Hezzie Tate

We hope you enjoy your visit to our site which is growing all the time

Hezzie is a American Bull Dog and Dogue de Bordeaux cross. Although we might be wrong to do so we think of him as a bullmastiff

Hezzie is

  • Is massive and powerful
  • Has a short easy-care coat
  • Is calm and quiet indoors
  • Makes an imposing watchdog
  • Is serious and self-assured with strangers, yet generally mild-mannered unless aroused
  • Needs only moderate exercise

Hezzie is a brindle and has a fawn or apricot as a background colour which is covered with very dark stripes and he has a white chest. He has muzzle, ears and his nose is dark in colour,

Hezzie is courageous, loyal, calm, and loving with my son and myself. He has a very strong protective instinct and will defend us against anything he perceives as a threat. However, he does not normally attack to protect. Instead, it simply knocks the intruder over with its massive size and pins them to the ground, or, will simply stand in front of the stranger/intruder and refuse to let them pass. Hezzie has become intensely attached to my family and is best when he is inside the house with us. His protective instinct combined with their great size and natural wariness of stranger’s means that early socialization was a must. Hezzie gets along well with most other dogs. Hezzie, in general, does get along well with children and is very loving towards them. Parental supervision should be maintained when they are with children because Hezzie is so big that they may accidentally knock smaller children or the frail down.
